HANNIBAL REVIEWS

by Jenni Gardner - submitted 31/7/05
I saw this a while ago and although Gary’s role as Mason verger isn’t exactly the main part he plays it with exquisite talent. I congratulate the make up team for their work to turn his incredible good looks into a Lecter-ravaged victim. His character was strong and the voice was very creepy. Mason’s role brought the film together because it opened up the storylines for other character. Amazing film from all who starred in it and yet another sterling performance from Gary! Well Done!

BRAM STOKER'S DARCULA REVIEWS

by Rebecca Trafford
This is a wonderful yet sad moving story about the power of love and what we do for it. The two main characters mina and dracula both are tragic charaters but mostly dracula because of the death of his wife. As you might agree he was truely devoted to his wife(wouldent it be nice if every relationship was like that) I feel mostly sorry for dracula as hes loses his wife and then dies at the end but trying to seek happyness with a reincarnation of his wife(winona ryder) shall we say. At the end of the film I always cry because its so touching or im just soppy! But I can definately say it is a brillant performance from gary.

AIR FORCE ONE REVIEWS

by Matthew Mangine - submitted 4/9/02
Air Force One, released in 1997 and directed by Wolfgang Peterson is one of the best action movies in existence. It stars Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman and Glenn Close and is set on the president’s transport plane after a visit with the Russian prime minister and the Russian Red Cross camps. Air Force one is hijacked by Russian ultra-nationalist radicals who manage to gain access to the onboard weapons. The film is incredibly well made for its genre and shows a depth and subtly that one would expect only from Peterson. The acting is also exceptional for an action film and Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman make exceptional performances. There is also a fabulous talent in Jürgen Prochnow who plays the menacing General Ivan Radek though his appearance is fairly brief. One of the themes of the film is quite anti-terrorist in that the script allows thought on who the real monsters are in politics. Oldman’s character, the main hijacker, makes the point that American President James Marshall would “murder ten-thousand Iraqis to save an economic gallon of gas”. He plays it very believably. Glenn Close is, surprisingly one of the only hindrances to the movie. Her character is over enthusiastic and pseudo-cool and becomes annoying after a few minutes of her antics. The characters of the film are very likable in their own way (I include the terrorists). They are played as real people and Peterson does his best to end the five-year-old notion of good guys and bad guys. Air Force One takes a genre and turns it into so much more than an action film. This is not only a movie to entertain you but one to actually deepen your understanding of human beings. I highly recommend it.

TRUE ROMANCE REVIEWS

by Michel Vigeant - submitted 15/11/02
I loved watching "True Romance" for the sheer action and excellent story-line(Screen-writer-Quentin Tarantino). The penultimate shoot-out is among the best ever filmed. Each and every actor, most notably Gary Oldman(Drexl) turns in noteworthy performances. Look for cameos by Brad Pitt and Val Kilmer(Mirror Elvis). A must see!!!!
